If you are personable, enthusiastic and possess a love for the outdoors, here's your chance to enjoy the beautiful wooded surroundings in one of our two campgrounds as a camp host. Gambrill State Park's Rock Run Campground features 34 campsites including four rustic mini cabins. Camp hosts are required to work 20 hours per week in exchange for a free campsite all of which include electric and some with sewer hook up. You'll greet new arrivals sharing the park's rules and regulations, provide information and field questions regarding the park's amenities, and promote park events and activities providing directions within the park and to attractions in the surrounding area. Other responsibilities include monitoring the campground bathrooms for cleanliness and supplies and cleaning the campsites which include raking the pads, cleaning up trash, cleaning the cabins and emptying the grills/fire rings. The ability to interact with the public and staff in a cordial and tactful manner is required. A criminal background check will be conducted and a driver's license valid in the state of Maryland is required. Interested persons are encouraged to apply as the number of positions is limited.
