Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for interest in volunteering in Maryland State Parks! Find some answers below for commonly asked questions about using our volunteer management system. We will continue to add content to this page as new questions arise.

  • Is there a guide to help me get started?

  • Why can't I find Opportunities when I am trying to track my hours?

    • If no opportunities appear on the Track Hours feature, it is likely because you have not yet responded to any opportunities. Opportunities will only appear for you to select in the Track Hours function after you have responded to them. To explore opportunities, select the Opportunities tab on the left side of your screen or the Volunteer button at the top of your screen. For help please review the: How to-Respond to an Opportunity guide.
  • What are Qualifications?

    • When you view an Opportunity that you are interested you may notice that they require a qualification, though not all opportunities require qualifications. These qualifications ensure that you have all of trainings and/or paperwork needed to participate in the opportunity and that you complete an waivers or forms that are necessary. All completed qualifications are housed in your volunteer profile.
  • I submitted my qualifications. Why can't I see my Opportunity Response on my profile?

    • Once you have completed any qualifications required for the opportunity that you are interested in they will need to be approved before they appear in your volunteer profile. After your qualifications have been approved, you will need to respond to the opportunity now that you are qualified.
